Rockets go down against the Badshahs again!

The yet undefeated team of the Lahore Badshahs has taken to maintain their stand and have yet again defeated the team of the Ahmedabad Rockets. Both these teams had made a good start in the Edelweiss Challenge but now the situation is different. However the team has managed its safe place due to its string of victories against all competitors they have played for.
The Ahmedabad Rockets had initially made a good opening in the match. The openers started somewhat a stable innings and started to score runs. Hinds made 10 runs and Martyn added 7 runs to the team score. Aziz came to the field and scored 11 runs off 18 balls. Some good runs were scored by Jain and Sriram who built on a competitive score for the team. Jain scored 43 runs and Sriram added 28. 19 more runs were added to the score by Streak by which the team finished up at 140 runs against the total of 151 by the Lahore Badshahs.
The Rockets however gave good competition to the team unbeaten yet. If it would not have been for a few important wickets, the team would have won the match easily since the score was not out of reach. However the top scorer of the team of Lahore Badshahs was Hasan Raza who came in at Hasan Raza who scored 43 runs off 34 balls. Imran Nazir and Taufeeq Umar also added valuable runs in late twenties so as to add to the team score and build up a defendable total. Kalia hauled 4 wickets and Streak obtained 3 against the Rockets.
Naved-ul-Hasan was awarded the Man of the Match for the last 16 runs that he gave to the team on just 5 balls. It was these runs which got the victory for the team. He deserved it well. |
