No stopping for the Badshahs in spite of Klusner’s 91!

Date : 3rd April
Place : Chandigarh

The team of the Lahore Badshahs that has not seen any defeat as yet in the Edelweiss Challenge of the Indian Cricket League did not have to face it again. It was difficult though, as expected to be in the semi-final match of the tournament but still a 7 run victory against the Kolkata Tigers was nothing less than deserving for the Lahore Badshahs. Lance Klusner gave a real fight till the end and made 91 runs but that seemed insufficient for getting a win. However he was awarded Man of the Match for his batting innings.

Just by the batting of Lance Klusner, the Kolkata team had accumulated half of the total target put on board by the Badshahs of 183 runs. However a very good bowling attack by the bowlers of the Badshahs, especially Shahid Nazir did not let the Tigers go according to their wish and their intentions were all disrupted by the very few runs that came off his overs. He just gave off 12 runs in the four overs that he bowled. This surely cut out on the run rate that seemed to go off to no limits. Only seven runs were short of the score of the Badshahs when the Tigers’ innings ended with Klusner being dismissed on the last ball.

The Lahore Badshahs too did not have that easy a time with their batting innings. Imran Farhat was dismissed in the first over itself but the lost ground was found back by brother Humayun along with Imran Nazir. Hasan Raza was gone for a duck but again, Haq and Latif managed to reinstate their dominance in the game with their good batting skills. An overall good batting performance by the Lahore Badshahs helped them get this match along with their bowlers who managed to keep the run rate low at the right times in the match.
