Badshahs win the last match in league too!

The Lahore Badshahs who have as yet remained unbeaten in the series have once again emerged victorious against the Ahmedabad Rockets. This match was incidentally the last for both in the league matches. A number of times in the match it seemed that the Lahore Badshahs would not be able to make it but then, they somehow pulled it off. They registered an 11 run win against the Ahmedabad Rockets. Naved-ul-Hasan was awarded Man of the Match for his 16 runs off 5 balls.
The Lahore Badshahs won the toss and chose to bat first. The team innings was opened by Imran Farhat who lost his wicket on the first ball that he played. The other opener however Imran Nazir scored some good runs for the team in company with Umar. Nazir scored 28 and Umar added 29 runs. Humayun Farhat and Haq were stumped out by Vora at the zero and 8 runs. Hasan Raza was the top scorer of the team with 43 runs off 34 balls. Latif added 11 runs to the team score and Hasan added 16 runs. Hasan was the one to give momentum to the team and pulling off to 151 runs by scoring his 16 runs on 5 balls.
The Ahmedabad Rockets started to play their game well initially. Hinds and Martyn opened strike for the team and started to hit and rotate well. However this did not last very long and Hinds got out on 10 runs and Martyn on 17 runs. Aziz scored 11 runs befor he was stumped by Farhat. Goodwin failed to score any run and went off on the first ball that he played. Sriram and Jain gained some momentum again for the team and scored 43 balls. Streak scored 19 runs off 31 balls. The team finished off at 140 runs and lost the match by 11 runs. |
